FulMarxx Shorts Fest is now Ahmedabad International Film Festival
The seeds of the festival were rooted long ago in 2007. An enterprising alumnus of Mudra Institute of Communications Ahmedabad(MICA) who always dreamt in 24 frames per second had the enthusiasm to lay ground for short films being made by independent filmmakers worldwide. It was soon that the projector shone on the white screen with the name and logo of FulMarxx Integrated Filmed Entertainment Company, a platform that Shiladitya Bora, the founder member prepared to connect the makers of short films with their audience. Initiated as a classroom set up at MICA Entrepreneurship Development Centre in 2007, the process grew to be the ADLABS FulMarxx Shorts Fest 1.0 in April 2008, India’s largest short film festival with 189 entries from 18 countries in 16 languages, 63 of which were international entries. Today, FulMarxx, Integrated Filmed Entertainment Company headquartered in Ahmedabad has walked several miles ahead of its vision and sprawled into a three-tier entertainment company with an Entertainment/Film Marketing unit, a Film Production House and the Ahmedabad International Film Festival 2009 formerly known as the FulMarxx Shorts Fest.
The metamorphosis from a campus upstart to a full blooming filmed entertainment company has been truly exhaustive. Passion was our only Godfather and with reels of hope we fetched our first project in 2007. Two years later, with the same zest we bring the Ahmedabad International Film Festival 2009.
